·         200 points:  Exams: Midterm #1: 1 hour, 40 points;  Midterm #2: 2 hours 80, points; Final: 2 hours, 80 points.  Exams consist of calculations, short answers, and some multiple choice problems.  Exam questions will be based on class packet material and problems, in-class exercises and class lecture.  One, two-sided, handwritten, 8.5" x 11" sheets of notes will be allowed during Midterm #1. Two, two-sided, handwritten, 8.5" x 11" sheets of notes will be allowed during Midterm #2, and the final exam.  A calculator capable of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and exponents is recommended for exams.  Each student must have their own resources (calculator, note sheets, and tables) during the exams…No sharing of resources.  No communication devices of any type are allowed during exams.

·         60 points:  Five homework assignments.  These assignments will be available on the class website at least one week before the due date.  Assignments are due at the beginning of the class session in which you are enrolled.  Late assignments will lose 2 points for each (calendar) day late. Late assignments may be e-mailed (MS Word format)...the time of the email will determine the number of days late.

·         To Be Determined:  During most class meetings, 5 point, in-class exercises will be assigned.  These exercises are to be completed and handed-in during class.  The 2 lowest scores on the in-class exercises during the term will be dropped.  These in-class exercises increase the total available points for the class to greater than 260.  No make-up or late in-class exercises will be allowed.  If you have justifiable reasons for missing more than 2 in-class exercises, and subject to instructor approval, the remaining in-class exercises may be over-weighted to compensate.

There will be no extra credit, additional work, or special projects offered to compensate for poor performance on exams, assignments, in-class exercises.

Solutions to the in-class exercises will be available in the in-class exercises folder.

Exam solutions will be available in the solutions folder.

A file of old exams (from previous terms) is available in the old exams folder.
