At OSU COB I teach course BA272: Business Applications Development, which is an
introduction to the Visual Basic .NET®
programming language.
I've been a member of the Computer Systems Department faculty at LBCC since
Fall 2000. You can access my LBCC homepage at:
http://cf.linnbenton.edu/bcs/cs/swansop
At LBCC I'm the teacher of Visual Basic .NET®.
I teach two courses there:
-
LBCC's course CS133V is equivalent to ("articulated with") OSU's course BA272.
CS133V is offered Fall, Winter, and Spring terms.
During Fall term 2005, I'll teach CS133V TR 1600-1820 at the LBCC
Benton Center in Corvallis.
-
LBCC's course CS233V is a second-level course in Visual Basic .NET®.
CS133V (or BA272) is a prerequisite for CS233V.
CS233V explores advanced topics in Visual Basic .NET®,
including:
-
Additional topics in Object-Oriented software design and implementation.
-
Database-driven applications.
-
A major student-selected Term Project.
CS233V is offered only in Fall term (for the 2005-2006 academic year).
During Fall term 2005, I'll teach CS233V MW 1900-2120 at the LBCC Benton Center
in Corvallis.
At LBCC I also teach courses in Networking as a Cisco Certified
Academy Instructor®,
in Network Operating Systems (Linux®
and Windows®),
in Computer Hardware, and in Orientation to Computer Science.
Before joining the LBCC faculty I worked for 19 years as an electronics and
software engineer at Hewlett-Packard. I worked mostly in the hardware/software
integration of test systems. Visual Basic®
was a principal programming language used in this work.
I've received the following degrees, in reverse chronological order:
MSEE from California State University, Sacramento
MA (Philosophy) from University of California, Davis
BD from Pacific School of Religion, Berkeley, Calif.
BA (Biology) from Harvard University
