BA 171 is a one-hour pass-fail course that is an introduction to the business profession, fields of business, business organizations, operations and management, and careers in business.  The information presented and the forums created in the class are intended to assist you in making rational and informed career-path decisions. 

Students use Internet resources to prepare short weekly research papers on each of the College of Business options and then prepare a final resume for submission at the last class meeting

Using short research papers as pre-study resources, students then attend interactive weekly lectures covering each of the disciplines and apply their research to what they learn in the lectures to assist in making informed career path decisions.  Students also independently prepare a resume and learn how to take advantage of the career-support programs on campus. The class is designed to provide information about business career paths including what it is like to work in the various disciplines.
