SharePoint Crash Course
A one day hands-on instructor led orientation of SharePoint for the power user. Combining lecture, demonstration and hands-on experience in our state of the art facilities, each participant will gain proficiency using SharePoint for collaboration. This course will also provide an explanation of the IT requirements for deploying SharePoint in an organization and preview new features coming in the next release of SharePoint.
Seating is limited to only 24 participants who will receive instruction from Michael Curry, a College of Business MIS faculty, and Microsoft Certified Professional. Early registration is $189, and $225 afterwards (click here to register) which includes use of the computer lab, access to a SharePoint site, and all training material.
At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to demonstrate comprehension of the following concepts:
- Basics of SharePoint and how it helps businesses collaborate in a virtual environment.
- Working with basic web parts, to include:
- My Site
- Document management, to include:
- Version control
- MS Office integration
- Document workflow (approval & feedback)
- Remote access to SharePoint
- Creating sites, managing user permissions, and modifying SharePoint
- Overview of system architecture, including IT system requirements for deploying SharePoint and explanation of the interaction between sharePoint and Exchange, SQL and Active Directory
- New features in next release of SharePoint

The training is held in the College of Business enhanced learning computer lab, located in Bexell Hall Room 324. For direction to Bexell Hall, view the campus map.
A parking permit is required to park on campus, and can be purchased online for $7/day at the following link.
Cancellations: In the event you are not able to attend the training, please email the instructor at least three business days in advance. Refunds cannot be issued, but we will attempt to reschedule you for a future session.
