Finals week:I have found the best way to review for the final exam is to work through practice versions of the final exam. So here are two practice versions of the final exam -- I recommend completing both of them: Note: both of these final exams were prepared when BA271 used a different textbook. I will write a final exam this term that more closely matches the assignments you completed this term. For example, objects in the database will have appropriate prefixes, as in tblCustomers or qryAnswer1. Also, the form you will build won't have a tab control on it; instead, the form will be closer in nature to the forms you created in Access #4. The final exam you take this term will not be identical to the versions above, but it will be similar. Of course, what seems "similar" to an instructor may seem tricky or confusing to some students. I want you to feel comfortable using Microsoft Access to do typical tasks like setting up tables, building queries, or constructing forms. I also want you to know how to adapt well when the unexpected happens or a database contains errors that need to be fixed. Another study strategy is to work through the Access assignments a second time. Since it probably took you a lot to time to complete these assignments initially, this may seem like an impossibly slow way to study for the final exam. In fact, you are likely to find the assignments are much easier to complete the second time. The first time you completed them, you were learning how to do the work--a slow process. The second time, you will learn how to work efficiently and how to understand the relationships among all the activities. |
