before the lecture is presented. Prior
to each class a listing of the lecture topics for that day will be posted in
the course documents section of the blackboard web site for this course.
COURSE QUIZZES AND FINAL
EXAM:
There will be nine objective quizzes which will comprise
70% of your course grade. These quizzes will combine true or false and multiple
choice questions based on the reading and lecture material presented since the
last quiz. The quizzes will normally take about twenty minutes at the end of
the Tuesday class meeting. The last quiz for the quarter will be on Thursday of
the last week of classes. No make-up
quizzes will be offered. The two lowest
quiz scores will automatically drop from your final grade calculation. While time does not allow for return of your
quizzes in class you may always stop by the office and pick them up. I also
post a sample quiz with the correct answers next to my office door. There will be a comprehensive, objective
final exam that will comprise 30% of your course grade. You will be permitted to bring one hand
written note card (approx. 4 by 6 inches) for use on the final exam only.
GRADING:
The final grade for this course is based on a plus/minus
scale. For example, 80% to 82% is a B-,
83% to 87% is a B and 88% and 89% is a B+.
Partial percentage scores will be rounded up if they reach the .6%
level. Hence, and 82.6% will be
considered and 83% for purposes of your final grade. There is no curve or extra credit in this
course.
DISABILITY ACCOMMODATIONS:
